The world can be a difficult and complicated place and taking care of our mental health is a top priority. I have had the privilege of working with people on their journeys to self-understanding and growth for nearly three decades. We all face struggles; no one should face them alone.
I offer coaching and counselling as well as a unique blend of both that creates a synergistic effect beyond the benefits of just one approach. This methodology is flexible and adaptable to your specific circumstances. It can provide the tools for forward-looking goal achievement and the emotional insight needed for healing and lasting change. You deserve to be seen, respected and appreciated for exactly who you are. As should all people. I practice cultural humility and welcome working with people of all identities – sizes, shapes, colours, genders, abilities, ages, sexual orientations, and worldviews. I have critically examined my own identity as a white man. I am keenly aware of how my ancestry has impacted others, how privilege has given me opportunities, and how my various social locations shape my reality and understanding of power, privilege, and oppression. I work through a social justice lens and promote efforts to shift power dynamics and create a more compassionate, equitable world for all people.
A bit about me
I have led various for profit, non-profit and cooperative organizations and businesses over the past thirty years, all focused on creating good in the world and promoting enhanced self-awareness, and social and environmental justice. The most meaningful thread throughout my career has been working closely with people who see each day as an opportunity to grow and take steps toward being the best possible versions of themselves, so they can show up for themselves and contribute something meaningful to their family, community and the world. This part of my work has moved me so much I chose to step away from leadership to spend all my time working one on one with people.
I practice an integrative approach to counselling, drawing inspiration from Coherence Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Humanistic Person-Centered Psychology, Mindfulness, Multiple-Selves theory, Gestalt, and Adlerian Pattern-Focused therapy. I aim to help you achieve tangible, measurable, and lasting change by combining these therapeutic frameworks. This holistic approach allows us to address the full complexity of your experiences, offering deep emotional healing and fostering personal growth.
Given the right conditions, I believe you have the inherent capacity for self-healing and personal growth. My primary focus is to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you feel safe and empowered to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. No matter how difficult, dark, or disorienting your inner world feels right now, I can meet you where you are, and provide a comfortable, confidential space to work through whatever is real for you.
