Counselling & Coaching in person in Nelson, BC and online.
I practice Coherence Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT for couples & EFIT for individuals), several of the most effective, evidence-based approaches for lasting change and emotional transformation.
These humanistic, experiential models go beyond symptom management, helping to uncover and erase old emotional patterns that no longer serve you. While no one can promise results in counselling, I have seen these modalities change lives in profound ways.
I utilize a biopsychosocial approach to mental health and personal growth, helping you understand how the biological, psychological, and social components of life intersect and interact. Our mental and physical health is shaped by this complex web of influences—our body, our mind, our relationships, and the societal structures we live within. By exploring these interconnections, I help you develop a holistic understanding of your well-being and how these factors can impact your emotional and physical health.
Counselling has been a significant part of my own life. From a young age to middle age, counselling has helped me grow, evolve, and face all aspects of myself with courage and compassion. This lifelong engagement with counselling informs my belief that everyone should have access to it as a regular part of life, not just in times of crisis. Counselling allows us to explore the many layers of who we are and helps us face our challenges more clearly, grow as people, and find our power.
My Approach to Counselling
As a counsellor, I focus on helping you heal, gain emotional insight, and work through past or present challenges you may be facing. You might come to me during a time of psychological distress when you’re dealing with emotional difficulties or navigating mental health issues like anxiety, depression, or trauma. The therapeutic counselling process is designed to resolve emotional pain, heal past wounds, and help you develop coping strategies to manage life’s difficulties.
My Approach to Coaching
As a coach, I focus on goal setting, personal development, and progress, oriented toward the future. My clients typically function well and seek to optimize their performance, achieve personal or professional goals, or unlock their full potential. Together, we take an action-oriented path, creating strategies to improve your skills and move you toward your desired outcomes, whether in your career, wellness, relationships, or other areas of life.
My Approach to Consulting
As a consultant, I work with leaders, boards, and organizations to create clarity, alignment, and forward momentum. You may come to me when your organization is at an inflection point—seeking a clearer vision, stronger governance, better systems, or a more cohesive strategy. My role is to help you think deeply, plan intentionally, and build structures that support long-term effectiveness and impact.
