Individual Therapy

Heal, Grow, and Come Home to Yourself

Therapy is an invitation—to slow down, listen inward, and connect with the parts of yourself that long to be seen, understood, and supported.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, or a sense of “something needs to shift,” individual therapy offers a compassionate space to explore what’s happening beneath the surface. Here, you’re not expected to have it all figured out. You simply get to be human.
I offer individual therapy in Nelson, BC and online across British Columbia.

My Therapeutic Approach

Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) + Coherence Therapy + Internal Family Systems (IFS)

My work is rooted in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Coherence Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) — three experiential, deeply compassionate approaches that help us understand emotional patterns, transform old wounds, and reconnect with our core sense of self.

Together, these modalities support real and sustainable change — not just intellectually, but in the emotional places where patterns were formed.

EFIT

EFIT helps you explore the emotional patterns that shape your daily life. It’s grounded in attachment science—the understanding that we all need emotional safety, belonging, and connection. When those needs have gone unmet or been ruptured, we develop protective strategies that once helped us survive, but which may now feel limiting or painful.

In EFIT, we work gently and collaboratively to:

  • understand emotional patterns and protective strategies
  • connect with emotions in a safe, supported way
  • make meaning of your lived experience
  • strengthen self-compassion and emotional regulation
  • build deeper internal and relational security

EFIT is experiential—healing comes not only from talking about emotions, but from experiencing new emotional moments directly in session.

Coherence Therapy

Coherence Therapy supports profound and lasting change by helping you discover the deeper emotional truths shaping your symptoms or stuck patterns. These “emotional learnings” formed for valid reasons earlier in life and continue to guide behaviour today.

Through experiential processes, we uncover these inner frameworks and bring them into awareness—creating the conditions for memory reconsolidation, the brain’s natural mechanism for updating emotional learning.

This process allows unhelpful patterns to dissolve not through willpower, but through insight paired with deep emotional contact. People often describe it as:
“Something just shifted—I don’t have to try to feel different… I just do.”

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is a powerful, gentle model based on the idea that we are made up of many inner “parts,” each with their own needs, strategies, and stories. These parts form for good reasons — usually to protect us, help us survive, or manage overwhelming emotion.

In IFS work, we learn to:

  • bring curiosity and compassion to all parts of ourselves
  • build a trusting relationship with protective strategies
  • understand the deeper needs underlying strong reactions
  • access a steadier, wiser inner Self beneath the noise

Rather than trying to eliminate or override inner struggle, we invite each part into relationship — helping wounded or protective parts feel seen, understood, and safe.

When parts unburden, people often experience:

  • greater emotional ease
  • less internal conflict
  • clearer decision-making
  • increased self-compassion
  • a grounded sense of inner wholeness

IFS integrates beautifully with EFIT and Coherence Therapy:
• EFIT helps us feel emotions safely in connection
• IFS helps us befriend the inner system
• Coherence Therapy helps transform the emotional learnings that keep patterns in place

Together, these approaches create a deeply supportive path toward healing and integration.

EFIT + Coherence Therapy + IFS together help you not just understandyourself, buttransform from within.

What Individual Therapy Can Support

You might come to therapy because you’re:

  • feeling overwhelmed or anxious
  • noticing patterns you’d like to shift
  • carrying shame or self-criticism
  • feeling stuck or disconnected
  • processing trauma or painful memories
  • grieving a loss or life transition
  • wanting to feel more confident, secure, or whole

You don’t need a crisis to begin.
Curiosity alone is enough.

How Individual Therapy Helps

Therapy can help you:

  • understand yourself more deeply
  • build emotional resilience and flexibility
  • reduce anxiety and stress
  • process painful or confusing experiences
  • heal trauma and old emotional wounds
  • shift patterns that no longer serve you
  • strengthen your self-trust
  • feel more grounded, confident, and alive

Over time, people often describe feeling more like themselves—less at war internally, more connected to what matters.

What Sessions Are Like

Our sessions are relational and collaborative.
You can expect:

  • warmth and genuine curiosity
  • a pace that fits you
  • space to feel and reflect
  • support to explore emotions safely
  • gentle attention to your body’s signals
  • no judgment, pressure, or pathologizing

You bring your lived experience.
I bring presence, training, and a framework for healing.
Together, we explore what is longing for attention.
